to think i was so eager to catch this year's National Day celebration.
in the end, it did not even matter.
i just did not feel 'in the spirit' after the parade.
it was as if it was just another celebration we celebrate everyday.
and Sze Ming, i saw you in the parade. were you the girl in the front row in some part of Act 1? and were you wearing the greenish costume with the flower (orchid?) decorated at the back? i guess you were part of the flora theme, right?
and there was something different about this parade from the other years:
more fireworks. *grunts*
(ME:
whyyy?!?!)
the future is ours to make.
that is our motto for this year.
oh yeah, something to point out.
why were some spectators waving their handphones around?!
yep, with the backlight on!
(ME:
if i am not wrong...)
it was as if it was some torch or something.
is it?!?!
wow. this year's National Day is
really unique.
and what's with the song 'Sing Your Wishes'?!
yi er san si wu liu qi ba jiu shi. (numerals in chinese)
gosh! and the rest of the song continued in singing of numerals in different languages.
i was like, am i supposed to comment on this?
seriously, it was as if not much effort was put in composing the song.
except that Reach Out For The Skies was fairly good.
then i was thinking, if Taufik and Rui En was singing the English version, why not Sylvester and Rui En sing the Chinese version, rather than Rui En singing it by herself?
all in all, the parade was just 20/100 and did i mention the choir?
(ME: you would
never believe it.)
they totally recycled the costume.
since 2003.
can you believe it?!?!
*gasp*
hope someone noticed it.
Shooting Stars Report
RE: the performance
Dear Whosoever this letter is supposed to go to,
I am glad to feedback about your show, and I hope to continue doing so till I see the rise in your viewership, regarding the show.
I see that the show title is poorly designed and the style of the show seems strangely familiar - as if it was partially lifted off from some tv series i caught sometime ago. Then again, I could not bring myself to remember the TV series, so this issue is excused.
Another problem to note: I cannot bring myself to remember the scene where Sylvester was asked for his name and he was grudgingly replying to it while 'admiring' the floor. One query: is this the sort of character play you would like to convey to the public? Sad, I must say, to see this happening.
So I have seen Unidentified Flying Objects, but I have never seen something quite like that, flying - at me. Singlish, I must say, is something that must be dearly avoided at all times, at any point of time. No one must ever speak such a language, especially on National TV. But why do I see Olinda setting such an example? I know it is part of the script, and it is her character to portray the role of a
bo chup attitude. But, not to this extend? I have seen many a TV series to comment on this, and I must bring out that you need not use Singlish. Trying watching TV serials such as One Tree Hill or The O.C for once, maybe their format may help you in re-writing of the scripts for the episodes to come. Hope you can consider this point and look into the matter.
So as I wish watching a down-to-earth drama, I do not wish seeing an overexaggerated one either. Your portraying of the Idols' life may be a little too overbearing and overwhelming, and some may not be what they really are, in reality. So this may not be a reality programme, but it is too a programme thousands of viewers are going to tune in to, and if you continue to draft up a script of such in future, I do hope you carefully consider the above mentioned.
If in any case, you do feel confused about the suggestions provided, we can arrange an appointment to discuss the issues regarding the show. I would gladly elaborate more on the issues concerning it. Do make the necessary reply once this mail is received. I am looking forward to more feedbacks after every episode, and more lunch appointments.
Yours sincerely,
Me
